
Mike Collins is the president of The Perfect Workday
Company, an information company based in the Research Triangle region of North Carolina. Mike presents over 100 programs a year for organizations such as IBM, American Express, Pepsi-Cola and the Duke University Medical Center. His programs are consistently rated "Excellent."
Programs are presented for associations, corporations, health care and educational institutions, chambers of commerce, and non-profit organizations. Mike specifically focuses on workplace effectiveness issues, such as time management, getting organized, negativity, communication, and managing multiple projects. His signature program is "The Perfect Workday".
As a writer, Mike Collins’ articles have appeared in Newsweek, American Banker and BUSINESS: North Carolina in addition to many local and
regional business and entertainment magazines. He is the author of three books including The North Carolina Jobhunter's Handbook. He recently completed his first novel.
In February 2002, Mike created a new company, Caregiver 101, Inc., to produce and market the video he recently completed, “Care for the Caregiver.” The award-winning video offers tips, tactics and strategies to family caregivers about how they can take care of themselves while caring for others. He is the author of CAREGIVER 101: Tips For Taking Care of Yourself While Taking Care of Others.
Mike Collins has a Bachelors degree in Radio, Television and Motion Pictures from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Masters degree from Duke University with a focus on caregiver wellness. Also, Mike has completed course work at North Carolina State University and Oxford University, Oxford, England.
In the last 30 years, Mike has focused on entrepreneurial ventures. He has started eight small businesses: six succeeded, one failed, and Caregiver 101, Inc. is a new venture. However, he has also worked in corporate
organizations. His experiences range from sales and marketing positions with corporations such as 3M Corporation and Southern Bell (now
BellSouth) to media relations director of the Kenan-Flagler School of
Business at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a nationally-ranked business school.
